Personally this was a great experience being able to work with little kids but it most for sure takes a lot of energy of you. I enjoyed being able to hang out with the little ones, I think this career isn't for me exactly which is okay, there might be something else for me out there.

My Internship Project, ExplainedFor my internship project I created a "I Spy Colors and Shapes" children book. I took pictures of objects in their classroom so the kids know where these objects are at. This project important to me because being able to introduce them to a new game and something new to learn makes me happy. To complete this book all I had to do was to take pictures and translate words to Spanish and as well use the program Story jumper to put the book all together.
My Book: I Spy Shapes and Colors POL Part 1:
How did you measure the success of work you did while you were an intern? What did you learn from this? Be happy, Patience, Enjoy coming to the site, Help out. How did your project go from an idea or inspiration to a final product? Talking to my teacher and mentor, brainstorming ideas and going back to software I know and that I can use for the final project. Part 2: What new appreciations did you develop while working as an intern? Why? Patience, Mentoring, Communication, Problem solving. Because with working with kids you have to have all these working skills. How did your view of life beyond high school change or develop during you time as an intern? Similarities: Teachers, Lessons plans, School, Watching kids. Differences: Taking care of yourself, Freedom, Projects. Kids and Adults, Enjoy it. These are five photos that are a part of my internship project.
How have you advocated for yourself during your internship, or seen demonstrated in other situations?
I have advocated for myself during internship by helping myself get the experience with kids and be able to help them with things they need help with. Are you following the advice in "How to be an intern everyone remembers"? If so, how is it working out? If not, what are you going to start doing? Im following the advice we were giving and its working out for me good because most of the staff remembers me and has gain more trust with me, allowing myself to help out more with the kids. For my internship project, I will be creating a I Spy book that allows kids learn their colors and shapes. I was also thinking about translating the colors into Spanish, so they can also learn another language besides English. To achieve this, I will be using story jumper to create this book for the ages of 2 year olds. I will be taking pictures of objects thats inside there classroom and place around the school, that they are familiar with like the outside playground.
About my mentor
My mentor started to work at the center in 2011 as a toddler teacher and took every opportunity closer to being the center director ( 1 year being center director now ). Some of her responsibilities and main duties is to plan events for teachers and families. Attend parent(s) and business meetings. Main duties are to mainly promote the company and make sure she choose the best opportunities for the company. My mentor choose this work field because she always had a passion to work with kids and help them learn and grow and that's exactly what she's doing. To become center director you have to have your degree, be in a good mood, have the heart for working with kids because if you don't you won't be happy coming to work and thats not good for anyone at any day care. You have to be really committed to working with kids and just in any school in general. She's very proud of herself from being a toddler teach to center director because she was really committed and she loves working with kids. Tish (My mentor) wishes before coming into the children work field, how tiring it was going to be. About the company Something you should know about the company before working here full time is to finish school first because its definitely hard to work at a school full time and going to school. The purpose of this company is to serve Cal State families and the community with great child care. The company is structured by corporate in Portland and then about 27,000 centers around the world. To be successful in this company is have to passion and commitment to be working with children. A typical work day as a teacher here at the center is having a lesson plan, watching the kids, making sure the kids feel safe and care of. Other things to know about the company is to have an open mind set and be ready in case of anything. About this career It's very important to get along with other people your working with because you wanna have the feel and be glad that everyone has their backs. You just have to be happy and be able to balance the things that need to get done. Internship Reflection During this past week(s) I have. learned how much kids grow, from going to different age classes their brains are so different. For example the from seeing a toddlers class room to a preschool class room the kids mindsets are different and they do a lot stuff alone, of course they still need some help but not help with going to the bathroom or serving their food or cleaning up their mess. During this time I have developed a lot of patience with every different of age of kids, that I didn't have before interning here. It just a really great chance to be a role model to the kids and its so nice that they listen to me and I love how I already gotten so close with some little kids. Seeing them everyday and learning something new about them its really heart warming. What strikes you the most about your workplace?
